MicroStrategy purchases another $101 million in Bitcoin. The company’s assets are currently 447,470 BTC. KULR also announced that it had purchased $21 million worth of Bitcoin to increase its holdings.
MicroStrategy increased its Bitcoin (BTC) holdings with an additional bulk purchase of 1,070 BTC worth approximately $101 million.
The company revealed its latest Bitcoin purchases on Monday, January 6th, noting that the acquisitions were made at an average price of $94,004 per Bitcoin. The business intelligence firm said the purchases were made between December 30, 2024 and January 5, 2025.
MicroStrategy completed the sale, selling 319,586 shares. With this acquisition, the company will have $6.77 billion in equity (part of its target of $21 billion in equity and $21 billion in debt), which will be used to purchase further Bitcoin.
MicroStrategy’s Bitcoin Strategy
Bitcoin prices have been rising over the past week, amid bullish mood ahead of President Donald Trump’s inauguration. So far, MicroStrategy has acquired a staggering 447,470 BTC with a purchase price of approximately $27.97 billion. According to current prices, the total value of the company’s BTC bag is worth more than $44 billion.

The world’s largest corporate holder of Bitcoin has urged several other publicly traded companies to adopt the BTC financial strategy. This includes companies listed in the US, Hong Kong, Canada, etc.
Notably, MicroStrategy purchased Bitcoin at an average price of $62,503 per BTC.
One of them, energy management platform KULR Technology Group, also announced on January 6th that it had purchased an additional $21 million worth of BTC, bringing its total to $42 million.

KULR, which launched its Bitcoin financial strategy in early December 2024, acquired its latest BTC assets at an average price of $98,393.58 per Bitcoin.
At the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading at around $99,194, up 1.5% in the past 24 hours and nearly 6% over the past week.
